Election technology provider to also supply new transparent ballot.

THE TECHNOLOGY provider for the poll automation contract will also produce transparent ballot boxes in a contract that would be signed today.
"We shall sign the contract most probably Monday," Smartmatic/Total Information Corp. (Smartmatic/TIM) President Cesar Flores said in a chance interview on Friday.
He said the estimated P250-million contract is an "add-on" to the P7.2-billion poll automation deal signed by the two parties last July.
"We don't want to be too late. Even without the contract we have already started buying the materials," Mr. Flores said.
