Postal ballots for Punjab bye-polls: February 22 is last date for receipt of applications.

The Chief Election of Pakistan on Saturday fixed February 22 as the last date for receipt of applications for postal ballot papers for bye-elections to the National and Provincial Assembly constituencies in Punjab province, including NA 123 Lahore-VI, PP-82 Jhang-X and PP-284 Bahawalnagar-VIII.

The facility, under the law, has been extended only to the persons in government service, members of Armed Forces, holders of public offices, their wives and children who are registered voters and are stationed or reside at a place other than the place in which their constituency is situated. Persons detained in prison or held in custody are also entitled to vote by postal ballot.
