Churches put children on trail through history.

Children are being encouraged to hunt high and low for clues in a trail with a difference.

The Bath Evening Decorative and Fine Arts Society has created the Children's Church Trail, designed to get youngsters exploring churches.

The idea is to get youngsters finding out about everything from why a font has eight sides to the history behind what is called a Jesse window.

Society member Kerry Brackenbury said: "We put it together to get children to look closely at the many interesting objects in our churches, from plaques to stained-glass windows." The trail takes in two churches at the moment - St Michael's in Broad Street and …
