The deputy Mayor of Kampala has hit at the city council engineering department for allegedly failing to supervise and inspect construction sites, describing it as grossly irresponsible.

Ms Florence Namayanja's remarks come a day after a wall from a building under construction in Kampala collapsed and killed two people.

"Some of our engineers are lazy and their performance must be checked. Some engineers deserve to be suspended," Ms Namayanja said during a press conference in Kampala yesterday.
