THE Domestic Trade, Cooperative and Consumerism Ministry expects to table the Direct Sales Act of 1993 amendments, made to prohibit pyramid schemes, in Parliament in March.
"The amendment will see its first reading (in Parliament) in March. The amendment will help curb the proliferation of pyramid schemes and hopefully make the public wary of being part of such schemes," Domestic Trade, Cooperative and Consumerism Minister Datuk Seri Ismail Sabri Yaakob told reporters in Petaling Jaya, Selangor, yesterday.
He was speaking after the launch of Amway Holdings Bhd's new RM100 million headquarters.
