The letter from Brian Daniels of the American-based so-called Citizens' Commission on Human Rights (CCHR) claims that there is no scientific basis for ADHD (Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder) and that criminals should not be using their ADHD to explain their offending ("Brain disorder is a criminal's myth", January 11).

I hope readers use the internet to find out more about ADHD and the CCHR. Daniels cites Szasz's book about the US psychiatric system in the 1950s, entitled The Myth of Mental Illness, on which to base his claims.
