Mariah Felix leads charge with 10 points

With one week remaining in the regular season, the North Port and Lemon Bay High girls basketball teams showed signs of improvement.

The Bobcats rebounded from a poor-shooting first half and hung on to take a 53-50 victory Monday night over the Manta Rays in a non-district game on North Port's Senior Night.

Scoring 20 points in the first half, the Bobcats (14-9) doubled their output in the third quarter, when they hit five 3-point shots, including a pair by Mariah Felix.

"We were just too jammed up in the first half," North Port coach Tom Tintor said.
