* Florida State University is claiming that about a third of its football team (and three quarters of its basketball team) is learning disabled and qualifies for help with papers, tests and other resources to help them get through school.

Licensed psychologist Casey Schmidt charges the school $800 to evaluate each referral, about 80% of whom are diagnosed as learning disabled. Ex-receiver Fred Rouse says some athletes are just lazy and looking for someone else to do their academic work. Some players can't read.
