builders are trying their best to keep their use of contaminated Chinese drywall out of the public eye. Some builders are even striving to keep their own homeowners in the dark as much as possible.

But one Bradenton-based company has now been accused of resorting to tactics that add a new dimension to the quest to keep drywall problems from being known: theft.

As I reported earlier this month, Medallion Homes used Chinese drywall manufactured by Knauf Tianjin Plasterboard Ltd. Co. in at least two communities: Country Meadows in East Manatee and Bobcat Trail in North Port.
