A Porthyrhyd housekeeper who stole GBP6,500 from her 89-year-old employer is to hear her fate at Crown Court.

Magistrates in Carmarthen felt they didn't have enough power to sentence Carol Margaretta Ann Williams, and committed the 50-year-old to Swansea's Crown Court on February 19.

Williams, of Awelfa, admitted three counts of theft and attempting to commit fraud by false representation from her elderly employer in Llandyfaelog, Kidwelly.

Williams stole a cheque for GBP2,000 on October 15, GBP500 in cash between September 29 and October 17 and also stole a blank cheque between the same dates which she attempted to …
