AMIR KHAN is ready to put his reputation on the line by tackling tough New Yorker Paulie Malignaggi in May.

Khan, 23, has dumped promoter Frank Warren and joined Oscar De La Hoya's Golden Boy or ganisation with the intention of making a name for himself in the States.

But his plan to meet Malignaggi in New York on May 1 has every chance of backfiring on the WBA world light-welterweight champion from Bolton.

Title Malignaggi, 29, was stopped in the 11th round by Manchester's Ricky Hatton in Las Vegas in November 2008.
