Campaigners who say an upgrade to a main road in Notts could harm restoration of a historic canal have succeeded in getting their case heard at a public inquiry.

The Grantham Canal Partnership wants the Highways Agency to carry out improvements to a canal bridge near the new A46 dual carriageway at Stragglethorpe.

The bridge in Stragglethorpe Road - known as Joshua Mann's Bridge Number 16 - is not part of the planned dualling scheme.
