THE result of the laboratory test done by Government chemists showed that the waragi, which killed people in Gulu and other parts of Uganda contained much higher amounts of methanol than the recommended 50%.
The laboratory report, which The New Vision read, indicated that two jerricans of the waragi suspected of having killed 32 people in Gulu district, contained a very high percentage of methanol.
"Some of those who consumed waragi with this concentration of methanol died on the spot. Others went blind," the regional police spokesperson, Johnson Kilama, remarked.
