Dan Evansd.evans A disabled woman says she has been forced to grit her own street after 10 months of the city council failing to fill up a grit bin.

Sian Astridge says she foresaw problems in the Clifton Wood area when residents used up all the ice-melting salts during February's cold snap.

She called the city council twice in February asking if they could refill the bins, as streets like Ambra Vale West, where she lives, are not main routes gritted by lorries.

On December 16, 18 and 21, the 44-year-old says she continued her pleas for more grit, but in the end she resorted to buying her own.
