The Ministry of Awqaf (endowments) and Islamic Affairs of Qatar has finalized plans to launch a satellite television channel devoted to Islam, according to reports published in the local Arabic press.

Quoting the director of the ministry's website islamweb, Mohamed Salah Dassoqui, the report says that the channel will present path-breaking programmes besides regular features.
