Aviemore eating place takes two top contest awards.

AN AVIEMORE eating place called the Mountain Cafe has scaled new culinary and business heights by collecting two awards in a national competition.

The cafe in the year-round resort's Grampian Road, has been run by New Zealander Kirsten Gilmour, 31, for the past five years. She came over to cook in London and holidayed in the Aviemore area and fell in love with the place and her now husband Alastair, an instructor at the nearby Glenmore Lodge outdoor training centre.
