Budapest, December 30, 2009 (MTI-ECONEWS) - In November 2009, households borrowed more than they repaid in the forint and borrowed less than they repaid in foreign currency, so the sector was a net borrower in the forint and a net repayer in foreign currency, the National Bank of Hungary (NBH) announced on Wednesday.

In addition, households placed less forint and foreign currency deposits than they withdrew.

In November, outstanding borrowing by households rose by HUF 5.7bn. Foreign currency loans fell by HUF 5.6bn, despite the upward effects of revaluations and other changes. Excluding that …
