Turkey not to "push" for mediator role in Israel-Syria talks.

Ankara: A spokesman with the Turkish Foreign Ministry has said Turkey claimed no insistence to resume mediating indirect peace talks between Israel and Syria.

"We are not in a position of pushing to carve out a mediator role. However, this is an issue that affects our region and we have been saying that we would do anything in our power," Burak Ozugergin told a weekly press briefing on Wednesday.

Israeli Foreign Minister Avigdor Lieberman has rejected Turkey's mediation between Syria and Israel.

"So long as I am foreign minister [...] there will be no Turkish mediation," …
