Regional tax directors now authorized to move staff.

The Bureau of Internal Revenue (BIR) has authorized anew its regional tax officials to move their personnel to new assignments as part of its efforts to enhance collection efficiency and to improve tax administration.

Internal Revenue Commissioner Joel L. Tan-Torres told reporters late last week that the transfer authority was handed over to revenue directors early this month through an internal memorandum.

"I have given them (regional directors) the authority to move people around. I [have] already issued a revenue delegation authority order this month... It is part of the measures to enhance tax administration," Mr. …
