Tropical storms that ravaged most parts of Luzon have dragged down output of the fishery sector by 0.49% in the third quarter, according to the Bureau of Agricultural Statistics (BAS).

Fishery production fell to 1.077 million metric tons (MT) for the three months ending September from 1.082 million metric tons during the same period last year, the bureau said in its latest report released early this month.

Commercial fishermen's haul plunged by 8.48%, while municipal fisheries saw their output drop by 1.18%.
