DAVAO CITY - Phoenix Petroleum Philippines is biding its time as it prepares to slug it out with big players in the oil industry.
Dennis A. Uy, chief executive officer of Phoenix Petroleum, said that in four years' time, the Davao-based company will be ready to compete with the big three - Shell, Petron and Caltex - in line with its objective of becoming one of the country's dominant independent oil players.
He told reporters here the company is still pursuing its plan to build 30 to 50 new stations nationwide every year, a long way from the initial five stations in the Davao region and Northern Mindanao a couple of years back. …
