Former Supreme Court Judge George Kanyeihamba has attacked East African leaders for failing to involve citizens in the integration process of the region which he said was likely to hinder the full attainment of a political federation.

According to Justice Kanyeihamba, seeking people's views was paramount in regional integration since they are the ones to suffer by its failure or benefit most by the successes.

"None of these self-appointed spokespersons of the East African Community project have consulted the populations of the states that are supposed to be parties to the Treaty," he said, adding "It is high time discussions …
