from BERNAMA, The Malaysian National News Agency JELI, Dec 12 (Bernama) -- Malaysia is among the developing countries which provide the best health service to their people, with it now recording only five infant deaths for every 1,000 births.

International Trade and Industry Minister Datuk Mustapa Mohamed said Malaysia's standard of health service was only slightly below that of the United States.

"Our health service has changed a lot over the years. Its quality is at par with that of developed countries.

"For instance, in Jeli in the 1950s, if a woman gave birth to 10 children, only five would survive.
