The England and Wales Cricket Board have moved to encourage counties to take a more positive approach by changing the points structure in the LV County Championship.
From the start of the 2010 campaign, teams will earn 16 points for a win and only three for a draw.
There were 14 and four points respectively on offer in 2009.
The ECB hopes that by introducing the change, counties will be more motivated to push for victory and less inclined to settle for a draw.
But Derbyshire head of cricket John Morris is not convinced the changes will have an impact.
