Section: General News - The Philippines was overwhelmingly voted recently to the United Nations Committee on the Protection of All Migrant Workers and Members of Their Families (CMW) for another three year-term from 2010 to 2013.
Ambassador to Canada Jose S. Brillantes, who is concurrently the vice chairman of the CMW, earned 34 out of 40 UN members voting during the elections at the UN headquarters in New York on December 3.
