Louisiana's Deigado Community College Architectural/Design Construction Technology program team distinguished itself at the 2009 CANstruction New Orleans competition with its entry, "CANdles of Hope: Peace, Love and Faith," which received the first place award for structural ingenuity. Delgado was the only education al institution to receive an award at the 2009 CANstruction competition amid a field of 14 entries by teams of area architecture firms, design and construction companies, university architecture schools and high schools.
