Ivica Osim is all for optimism. Just not blind optimism.

Osim, the man who would be leading Japan to next year's World Cup had he not been forced to step down because of the stroke he suffered in December 2007, pleaded for some perspective following Friday's final draw that saw his old team grouped with the Netherlands, Cameroon and Denmark.

"There's nothing wrong in having a dream, but to dream too much can be dangerous," Osim said in Tokyo during the wee hours on Saturday morning.
