Section: Business News - Consumer businesses are preparing all-out spending offensives for next year as sales have picked up smartly this quarter thanks to improvements in the political and economic scenes, while competition is expected to intensify, The Nation reports.

Oishi Group has witnessed dramatic growth in sales at its Japanese restaurants and of ready-to-drink green tea and functional beverages.

"We achieved year-on-year growth of 21 per cent in overall sales to Bt5.2 billion for the first nine months of the year. Our profit also jumped by 35 per cent to Bt613 million," Tan Passakornatee, president and CEO, said on December 2.
