Carmakers in India are preparing for a two-phase price hike after almost a year. This is because of the increasing input costs and the need to switch to stricter emission norms from Apr 2010. Prices of popular vehicles like Mahindra Scorpio, Maruti Swift and Honda Civic may go up by Rs10,000-20,000 within a month or so.
