Vietnam: Construction work begins on Hanoi-Thai Nguyen expressway.

Section: General News - A groundbreaking ceremony for the Hanoi-Thai Nguyen expressway was held in Hong Tien commune, Pho Yen district, Thai Nguyen province on November 24 with the participation of Prime Minister Nguyen Tan Dung.

This important project is part of a strategy to improve Vietnam's transportation system, replace former highway No 3 and boost economic exchanges between Hanoi and the northern mountainous areas surrounding Thai Nguyen.

Total length of the four-lane expressway will be 61.3 km, departing from Ninh Hiep, Gia Lam district, Hanoi.
