Section: General News - The Vietnam-Finland Innovation Partnership Programme (IPP) opened its office in Hanoi on Nov. 24, four months after the two countries signed an agreement on the programme.
The programme will last for three years through 2012 with a budget of 3 million EUR contributed by the Finnish government on a grant basis, and 9.5 billion VND (550,000 USD) by the Vietnamese government. It aims to strengthen Vietnam's capacity in science, technology and innovation, thus contributing to the country's efforts to become an industrial country by 2020.
