The government of the Dominican Republic has recently amended terms of the special lease agreement (SLA) covering the Pueblo Viejo project. The most significant change is the increase of net profits interest (NPI) from 5-25% to 28.75%, according to an official of the jv's majority owner Barrick Gold.
