There is a running war of words between the chief ministers of Tamil Nadu and Kerala over Mullaiperiyar. This is the first time that the two chief ministers are having a verbal exchange on a problem that has dragged on for three decades after it first hit the headlines in Kerala that the Mullaiperiyar dam was in danger.
