BIR to make computerized record filing 'more mandatory' for large.

THE BUREAU of Internal Revenue (BIR) is set to strictly enforce a 2006 revenue regulation (RR) by requiring large taxpayers to use a computerized system to record tax-related information, in a bid to facilitate tax administration.

"We will soon release an order mandating all the large taxpayers to adopt a computerized accounting system," BIR Acting Commissioner Joel L. Tan-Torres told reporters last week. "Some tax-payers are still using the manual [method], so tax audit will have to be done manually. We have to remind them that they are large taxpayers involved in multimillion transactions, so they should have a computerized system." …
