Volunteer soldiers are to be given an honour for serving in the war zones of Iraq and Afghanistan.
Members of the Territorial Army's 203 Loughborough Squadron will receive the Freedom of Entry to the Borough of Charnwood.
The honour will be conferred upon 78 members of the unit who have volunteered from Loughborough and its surrounding villages to support career troops.
The recipients will have the right to march through the town with bayonets fixed and displaying their colours.
An open air ceremony is planned for March 20 next year in Loughborough's Queen's Park.
