Dual-lateral well tests major gas, condensate near Houston. (Magnum Hunter Resources Inc)
Irving, Texas-based Magnum Hunter Resources Inc. is a partner in a group that made a significant medium-depth gas discovery recently using dual-lateral horizontal drilling technology.
The Wash McAdams Well No. 3-H, located in Walker County about 120 miles north of Houston, recently tested at rates up to 9 mmcf/d and up to 95 b/d of condensate through a 34/64[inches] choke with flowing tubing pressure ranging from 1,400 psi-2,000 psi. Total vertical depth is about 11,800[feet]. Production is from two horizontal segments that connect more than 11,000[feet] of the productive Glen Rose formation to the vertical borehole. …
