Nov. 6--The season hasn't started yet, but the University of Wisconsin-Superior women's hockey team may have already pulled off what could be its biggest victory of the year -- beating the flu bug. Since the Yellowjackets began practicing for the 2009-10 season several weeks ago, up to 14 different players have missed ice time due to illness. "We finally have everybody back at practice," UWS coach Dan Laughlin said. "The kids have been battling colds, coughs and flu-like symptoms. It's nice to get it out of the way, hopefully. Winter's not even here yet."
Even though not all of Laughlin's players are at full strength, he said the Yellowjackets were ready to go.
