Section: General News - The prime minister said he will take all concerns from the labor union of the State Railway of Thailand, or SRT, into consideration.

A committee might be set up to oversee train safety and traffic. The premier insisted the SRT will not be privatized.

SRT union leader, Sawit Kaewwan revealed, after his meeting with Prime Minister Abhisit Vejjajiva, that the prime minister said he will take all concerns from the union into consideration.

The union proposed the following concerns to the PM; setting up a committee to oversee train safety, consideration for dismissal of the SRT Governor, justice for the unfair treatment to SRT employees …
