KUALA LUMPUR: A prominent corporate lawyer was strangled by three assailants in his house in Jalan Batai, Bukit Damansara here early yesterday morning. M. Thiruchelraegaran, 75, was believed to have been murdered for refusing to point out the keys to a cabinet which contained valuables.

The incident occurred at 4am after the three assailants, using shovels, forced open the front door of the two-storey bungalow.

They went into the kitchen and armed themselves with knives before waking up the victim, his wife and their maid.
