Alfred David "Al" Bell, 74, of Sarasota, formerly of Montague, Mich., died Oct. 30, 2009.

A memorial gathering will be from 10 to 11 a.m. Tuesday, with a memorial service to follow, at Toale Brothers Funeral Homes, Gulf Gate Chapel. Inurnment will take place Nov. 24 in Montague.

Survivors include his wife, Ann (Murdoch)

Bell; four daughters, Margo A. (Tod) Hughes of Winston-Salem, N.C., Mary L. Bell of Sarasota, Laura M. (Bob) Hires and Susan C. (Stephen) Britton of Montague; sisters Carol McCain and Laura Rogers, both of Michigan, and Christie Slager and Mary Thomas; brothers Norman Bell and Bob (Becky) Bell of Michigan; and five grandchildren, Robbie Hires, Lyndsay A. Bell, Alyson Hughes, and Sophie and Madalyn Britton.

Al was preceded in death by his parents, Ambrose D. Bell and Mary L. Stevens.

Al was a passionate antique auto collector and enthusiast.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Montague United Methodist Church, 8555 Cook St., Montague, MI 49437; or All Faiths Food Bank, Sarasota.
