Shore based Internet users are offered a way to send shore to ship messages to Inmarsat-A or B terminals.

Internet users can now communicate from home, the office, or any land location to Inmarsat-A or B mobile terminals via the Inmarsat satellite system. Until now, Internet users have had the capability to send messages to Inmarsat-C terminals. Now, the capability is expanded to include Telex messaging to Inmarsat-A and B terminals. Internet providers route the messages to Southbury, Conn., where the Internet message is electronically converted to a Telex. The ship then receives your message as a Telex.
