Section: General News - The 165-million-year-old Darwinopterus is a newly discovered fossil which proves an interesting link in the evolutionary chain.

A Chinese scientist said a new find in the fossil world has filled in a gap in the records between the short-tailed pterosaurs of around 155 million years ago and their long-tailed forebears.

Scientist said, the fossil, along with 20 others of its kind found in north-eastern China's Liaoning province, demonstrates the theory of modular evolution.
