Centre points the way to work A POPULAR youth centre had a busy summer helping its members. Thirsk Clock staff, in the town's market place, helped 25 youngsters get into further education or find jobs. In some cases, staff went along to the interviews, secured funding for transport or helped with the application process.

SCHOOL DAYS: The next meeting of the Bedale Archaeology and History Society will feature an illustrated talk by Christine Godden calledWhat did they learn you today? The village school: its people, life and times. The talk starts at 7.30pm on Tuesday, in Bedale Hall.
