DPJ paving way for smooth Diet debut

The administration of Prime Minister Yukio Hatoyama was set to make its deliberations debut as a ruling party at an extraordinary Diet session on Monday.

The Democratic Party of Japan has limited the number of government-sponsored bills to be submitted to the session and is allowing bureaucrats to attend to ensure the debut session passes without major fuss.

However, the Liberal Democratic Party aims to grill the ruling camp by, for example, raising problems relating to Hatoyama's political donation reports.
