DENTON - A developer of luxury retirement communities has a tract of undeveloped land under contract here, contemplating a masterplanned community for active adults that could someday include 5,000 homes.

But the project is far from a done deal.

Steve Soriano, Robson Communities vice president for development, declined to elaborate on the company's plans.

"We'd like to build in Texas. It's a strong market, but nothing is set in concrete yet." he said.

Officials of the Phoenix-based company continue to meet with Denton city officials, discussing infrastructure requirements and funding on the land, which lays outside city limits. They've also discussed …
