It was a sight West Bromwich Albion fans had hoped to see a lot more of during the past two years, but last night there was no reason to rejoice when Craig Beattie drilled home. Having left Albion in August in a GBP500,000 deal following a frustrating spell at The Hawthorns that yielded only four goals, the Swansea City forward disrupted his former club's promotion march by returning to grab the winner.

The goal took his tally for the season to four, including, ironically, two for Albion earlier in the campaign. The home side pushed for an equaliser and the substitute Simon Cox came within inches of scoring when he shot wide within seconds …
