The celebration of this year's Odwira Festival by the Chiefs and people of Aburi and the Akuapem Anafo Traditional Area has brought fresh attention to the awful state of the once prestigious Aburi Botanical Gardens.
The deteriorated state of the botanical gardens did not escape the eyes of the second gentleman of the nation, Vice President John Dramani Mahama, when he graced last Saturday's state durbar, which was held in the gardens to climax this year's festival.
The Vice President recalled that in time past the garden was in a fantastic state but presently "the glory of the Aburi Gardens" has faded.
