Dutch coach picked for the hot seat at Ajax FORMER Netherlands under-21 coach Foppe de Haan saw off stiff competition from several high- profile names to become the new Ajax Cape Town coach yesterday.
Ajax have already applied for a work permit and hope to have the Dutchman on the bench from next month. De Haan beat the likes of Jeff Butler, Paul Dolezar, Ernst Middendorp, Leo Beenhakker, Shaun Bartlett and Miguel Gamondi, among a host of others, to clinch the job that was vacated by Muhsin Ertugral earlier this month.
Ajax CEO George Comitis said the two parties had been negotiating since Sunday and the contract was only concluded yesterday morning.
