But for one day in early December, directors and their staff can put aside their concerns and help to raise money for disadvantaged children throughout the region.The Variety Club Yorkshire Business Awards, supported by the Yorkshire Post and executive search firm Hitchenor Wakeford, has raised nearly AGBP3m to date.The annual awards are held over a fund-raising lunch, in Leeds, and honour the most outstanding business leader, board and small business of 2009.This week, we look back at how some of that money has been spent.According to the Variety Club, AGBP6,500 has been spent on a height-adjustable bath with an integral stretcher for a six-year-old from Leeds with cerebral palsy.Thanks to the money, she can transfer from wheelchair to bath, and bath times are now much …
