Giant oil company reserves 150,000 square feet at Las Colinas spec building

LAS COLINAS - Occidental Petroleum Corp. of Los Angeles is going east, real estate brokers say, with plans to relocate its corporate headquarters to Irving.

Sources in the real estate industry say Occidental Petroleum (NYSE: OXY) has signed a letter of intent to lease 150,000 square feet of office space at 6565 MacArthur Tower, a speculative building under construction on MacArthur Boulevard in Irving's masterplanned business community, Las Colinas.

"We don't comment on rumors or speculation," said Roger Gillott, a spokesman for Occidental Petroleum, which ranks No. 142 on the Fortune 500 list.
